You know, its funny when I look back.

For some reason when we brought these adorable beautiful, curly headed Littles home I never envisioned them finally growing up and deciding it was time to lose teeth and learn to read, to be able to ride a bike without training wheels, or jump rope with each other.

I was such a ninny. πŸ™‚

Kids, despite how many times we hold them, and squeeze them, and do our very best to keep them little, always seem to grow up when we are not looking, right?

We had a simple, fun birthday party, and in the spirit of always being transparent with you and sharing our lives inside and out, I knew you would want to see some pictures. Because seriously, who doesnt want a piece of awesomesauce cake vicariously through someone else’s pictures?

So here they are, in all their SIX year old glory, my precious Littles…who are not so little anymore. πŸ˜€

The day started with 3 TOTAL mom fails…. First the chocolate chip face birthday pancakes  went horribly wrong when I tried to use cherry chips for the mouth instead of chocolate chips. (Just dont do it, moms.)

Instead, my 6 year olds were THRILLED with their “murder pancakes” and I got quite a few hearty laughs from Joker fans when I posted them. Keeping it real, folks, keeping it real. πŸ˜€

Just dont use cherry chips for birthday face pancakes.

Next was the total BOMB my normal recipe created for the layer cake…and I seriously have no idea what I did wrong. Thank goodness this was only half of what I was planning on doing….too bad my oldest daughter had JUST finished cleaning the oven with Young Living Thieves cleaner the night before. Yeah. She was pretty mad at me. *blush*

wrecking the cake

And finally, to top of my total mom fail for the day, I went to grab the number candle for their cake out of the drawer….and found I had bought this instead….. (You think this means I don’t want them to grow up? Yeah my FB friends told me that about a bazillion times….)

wrong candle

Thank goodness from there it just got better. Whew. I mean, because we might not have any more birthdays in this house if it hadn’t…..

I made them special dresses as I do every year. πŸ˜€ This year was a princess theme, with lots of fun stuff geared around it. πŸ˜€ As you can see, one of my twinkies is really good at pics, and the other cant stand still long enough. πŸ˜€

I made sure to get shots of them with their butterfly balloons. Because somehow, in the world of a six year old, butterfly ballons and princess themed birthdays all go hand in hand.

Birthday Balloons rock

and again the very excited child’s image….the same one who sobbed the night before she did NOT want to turn six. *sigh*

See what my life is like over here?

Birthday Balloon fun 2

We went for simple with the cake and they turned out darling. My girls have never had this crazy awesome and easy idea from my childhood, which has convinced me I am truly sheltering them, as this was my favorite way to eat cake at their age…..

simple and easy birthday cake

Funny how when you put them together, they look just like an awesome birthday cake from the top!

Easiest birthday cake in the world

Anyhow they were spoiled rotten with crowns and feather boas, tons of handcrafted items like my new AromaLove Bears (they seriously have been begging for these for over a month) and mini Rainbow ponies. You can find more of those kind of things right here by heading to my Etsy store we just opened up again. πŸ˜€

Bags as big as they are...with presents

However, of all the shots, this one is probably my favorite. Why? Because it captures the personality and spunkiness of my darling Blessings who we prayed for and God placed in our home. πŸ˜€

Punk Rock Princess...www.thewelcominghouseblog.com

Even though they declared this was “the best birthday EVER!!!!!!” I still decided I don’t want to think about birthdays for another 11 months, 28 days, and a few hours.

Because I am rebelling against them growing up.

Now give me my crayons and coloring book and I am heading to the bedroom to lock myself in and eat chocolate. πŸ˜€ Or drink a glass of wine.

Blessings to you and yours
