Good morning, my friends!
I hope that you are gearing up for Valentine’s Day and all the fun, wonderful things about that holiday! I could not let the first Tuesday of the month go by without sharing a recipe for ONE of my most favorite things:
Sour Cream Sugar Cookies
Hope you have an absolutely wonderful Tuesday, and see you back here tomorrow for our most popular day of the week, Wellness Wednesday!
Blessings to you and yours,
HeatherÂ
Our Sour Cream Sugar Cookies Recipe
3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening or coconut oil
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp almond extract
1/4 cup sour cream
2 1/4 cups All purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
scant 3 Tbs cold water
~Cream the fats and sugars until creamy and fluffy. Then add eggs and extracts and beat until combined. Mix flour with all remaining ingredients but water and slowly add into the wet ingredients in bowl. (This will make a stiff dough). Add water 1 Tbs at a time until the dough comes together and begins to look like a stiff cookie dough.
Take small spoonfuls and drop onto a parchment paper covered cookie sheet for drop cookies, or roll out on parchment paper after chilling for an hour and using a combination of 1/2 flour and 1/2 granulated sugar to roll the dough out onto the paper for shaped cookies.
Bake for 8 Â minutes at 350* until edges are lightly browned but middles still look soft. If you wait until the middles look done these cookies will burn, and the sweet softness of the middle combined with the crisp crunchy edges are what make these cookies so addictive!
Pull out of oven once edges are browned, and gently transfer to a cookie cooling rack with a metal spatula. Â Cool completely, then frost and decorate, or store, or…just get a good solid mouthful of cookie delight!
Enjoy!
These sound tasty! I love finding new cookie recipes.
