Good morning everyone!
I wanted to keep everyone in the loop as to what is happening here on this side of the screen and tell you about why I have been fighting to keep the posts coming the last week.
We have quite a disruption happening in our home in the next two weeks, and really would love to have your prayers and encouragement. Last week we finally connected with our oldest daughter’s neurosurgeon and found out that her latest CT scan was poorer than the one they took a few months ago, meaning she would need to have immediate surgery when they could get her in. That meant we needed to kick everything in high gear, including Spring cleaning, orgnanizing our home for long term use for her when she is done with surgery, (it could take up to 2 months for full recovery and her bedroom is on the upper level, so that had to change a.s.a.p), setting up pet and rabbit care, etc.
We are walking forward in faith during this time, but with a business exploding in activity, and my family requirin so much more care and time right now, I simply have not had the time to devote to writing for a little bit, for a short season. I keep thinking about all the things I want to tell you, and how I have learned this or that, but find myself falling into bed for the night exhausted and hit the ground running the next morning.
On Tuesday next week my daughter will undergo a three to four hour surgery where they will replace the shunt she already has had for almost 14 years with a new one with all the bells and whistles that will help her balance and body grow normally from here on out. We have had a rough couple weeks with dizziness, headaches, nose bleeds, etc that have been hard on both her and us. Unfortunately for her, that has meant some falls, and headaches that incapacitate her for normal activities somedays….breaking our hearts as we watch her go through it. Please keep her, and us, in your prayers.
I am trying to line up some guest bloggers for you, and will update everyone as we walk through this. I just can not find the time or energy to blog about creative ideas or recipes right now for ya until this is all over. I hope (I know) you understand. I am blessed with so many wonderful readers and friendships that have developed over the years witht he Welcoming House, that I feel to write this is to sit at the table with you and share this over a cup of coffee…seeing your faces and knowing you will be thinking and praying for us.
Meanwhile, I will try to post again before the end of the week. I am still holding two classes which have been on the books over on Facebook if you are interested in attending. On Friday I am teaching our very last Cold, Flu and other Illnesses Treatment using Essential Oils for a friend and want to encourage you to attend if that subject interests you. Lots of readers have attended and had a blast, and it gives me a chance to interact with you outside of the Welcoming House! Lastly, on Sunday, we have a Essential Oils 101 class, in teaching you how to replace all the common over-the-counter meds in your cabinets with ten oils, a fun interactive class where you can ask questions and learn how amazing and easy essential oils are to use, with no side effects and no damage. I hope to see some of you there too, and wish I could do more.
Once this is all over with, I am looking forward to jumping back in to the writing platform and share with you all the awesome things happening here with the Spring coming right around the corner. Baby bunnies, garden expansions, new herbs and treatments with oils, more food storage ideas, etc. My cup runneth over with ideas and blessings right now, and I am glad to have you along for another wonderful year.
May God richly bless you this week. May you have a wonderful week ahead and think of us on March 4th as we walk through this new trial with our oldest daughter.
Blessings to you and yours,
~Heather

Hi Heather. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter’s trials. I know it is difficult on the whole family, but especially Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will put the 4th in my calendar to be sure and say an extra special prayer for her and all of you. I put your family on the prayer roll at the Temple last week. It stays there for 2 weeks and then I will update it.
We will all be anxiously awaiting news about the surgery and how she is doing. We will also be here when you come back. I will miss your voice and presence while you go through this but look forward to your return.
Hi there, wishing you the Lord’s strength as you go through this surgery. Our oldest son has a shunt as well, he has had two shunt tube replacements, but not the part in the head, as his is completely grown in. We understand your struggles. We will keep you in our prayers that God will give strength to the surgeon and to you as a family.
Special prayers on March 4th and daily prayers as she recovers. Thank you for sharing your life with us. See you again soon, stay strong.
Prayers for her and for you! I hope she will have a good recovery *hugs*
You will be in our hearts and prayers. God bless you!
Prayers from Idaho!
“Peace, be still, and know that I am God” is one of my favorite comforting scriptures. May you have the peace and joy that is there just for you and your family!
Please know that I am holding you all up in prayer.Do what you need to do because we aren’t going anywhere. Love to you and your family.
Thank you for sharing your need with us. Please don’t feel or think that we will be upset if you need to devote your time completely to your family. Do know also that our prayers will include you and your family to recover and overcome the present and long term difficulties you are facing. I don’t really see how any blogger can post daily and carry on with family responsibilities.
I appreciate all that you have shared and presented to your followers. I do look forward to seeing an occasional BRIEF update. Blessings to your and yours.
Heather, prayers for your daughter and your family! Please keep us updated and let us know how we can all pray with you during this time. May the God of all grace give healing, comfort, and peace to you all.
Prayers for you and your family Heather!! Sometimes you have to know when to step back though it’s hard. I’m in one of those myself.
